Consortium

Officers and Members of the Consortium meet on a frequent basis to bring about improvements that will benefit the people of Mid Wales and those travelling to and through the region.
These currently include:

• Promoting healthier and more environmentally sustainable forms of transport (such as walking and cycling to school and work) - such as through travel planning and Safe Routes to School projects;
• Seeking improvements to regional public transport services and facilities (rail, local bus services, taxis and community transport) - such as improved rail service frequencies, establishing regional quality bus corridors, securing longer distance coach services for Mid Wales and providing widely available and accurate travel information (e.g. Real Time Bus Information).

Through each of the local highways authorities - and in partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency - TraCC will also seek to provide roads and footways that are in a safe condition to use.
